Description:
Taskbar Button Manager is a simple utility that helps you arrange the buttons on your Windows taskbar in any way you want by using drag and drop. Moving your task buttons is very easy, no hotkey needed.
In addition to drag and drop you can also use a special program window for moving the taskbar buttons. You can hide running programs too, so they don't show on your taskbar. The program works in all situations – even when the taskbar buttons are grouped or when the taskbar is not located in the standard bottom area of the screen.
This program is free and does not contain spyware or adware of any kind. The maker of this program, Innovative Solutions, is strongly opposed to spyware or adware.
This program is designed to run on Microsoft Windows XP, including the first edition and Service Packs 1 and 2 (SP1, SP2).
Here is how to move a taskbar button using drag and drop:
* Move your mouse inside the taskbar button
* Press the left mouse button, and keep it pressed
* While keeping the left mouse button pressed, move the mouse to the place where you want to put the button
* Release the mouse button
The taskbar button will be dropped into the new location (where you have released the mouse button).
Note:
While moving the mouse you will see a blue bubble which informs you about the place where the button will be dropped. Please note that the bubble doesn't always appear - it appears only when you perform the operation slowly. If you drag and drop the taskbar buttons quickly, the taskbar buttons will be moved according to your drag-and-drop, but the blue information bubble will NOT appear. This feature is designed for expert users who want to quickly rearrange the buttons without visual noise.
How to arrange taskbar buttons using the Taskbar Button Manager window
If you double-click the Taskbar Button Manager icon in the system tray, the Taskbar Button Manager window will appear. This is an alternate way to move taskbar buttons. The window contains a list of taskbar buttons. You can select any taskbar button and press the green up and down buttons to move that taskbar button.
Each taskbar button has a checkbox which is by default checked. If you uncheck the checkbox of a taskbar button, that taskbar button along with the program window of that taskbar button will be hidden.
