When I enter full screen-mode, I cannot go back to normal mode! - This seems to be a problem that is related to mProjector, the tool I use to create FLV Player with. other symptoms are (very) choppy video and/or stuttering audio. If this new version of FLV Player is giving you troubles, you can try reverting to the previous version. I have notified Screentime, the creator of mProjector (the tool I use to convert my Flash file into a Windows standalone executable) of this issue, I hope they are able to fix this soon!
You can also try the following fix, posted by one of my blog visitors:
1 - Close FLV Player.
2 - Find the executable file FLVPLAYER.EXE (should be in C:\Program Files\FLVPlayer) and right click on it.
3 - Select PROPERTIES, COMPATIBLITY, and check Run this program in compatibility mode.
4 - Then choose WINDOWS 2000.
5 - Start FLV Player.

5. Is there a Mac version of FLV Player available? - No, for Mac users I highly recommend the excellent free Quicktime component Perian . Perian allows you to play FLV files (amongst other formats) within the Quicktime player on your Mac.

CUDOKU is a simple Sudoku solver, creator and teacher.

Rules
Every digit from 1 to 9 should appear only once in every row, column and square 3x3 fields. At start you wiil see some digits in place. Game ends when you fill entire board, according to above rule. That is all!

Playing
To begin choose game level (lame, beginner, advanced or wizard) and press New game button. You will see randomly generated puzzle. To put number in empty field, click on small green digit. Status box at the top shows moves remaining to game end. To undo last move, click on Back button.

Static puzzle numbers are black, placed by player are blue. Clicking on X removes them. Small number from 1 to 9 can be green, black or light grey - try to click several times on them with right mouse button. These colors don't have any meaning to program. They are only for player - you can check which numbers you plan to put in the field, and which not.

Hint
There are three hint level available.
Level 0: No hints. All possibilities are available.
Level 1: Only numbers absent in row, column and square are displayed to click on them.
Level 2: Program performs more complex board analysis and eliminates more numbers than in level 1.
Highlight lonely numbers: This option is available in levels 1 and 2.
Error: Sometimes, in level 1 or 2, you will see empty, pink squares. This means that there is no number to put in. You should press Back and try another move.

Creating your own puzzles
You can create your own puzzles or put in those found in magazines and other places. To do it, simply press Clear all button and fill board with desired numbers. Then press Lock button, and all numbers will turn black, just like after New game selecting. From now you can start to play.

Hint: When you are creating own puzzle starting with empty board, set Hint level to 2 and check Higlight lonely numbers option. Then fill board with numbers, until you see all empty fields with only one possible number, like below. This means, that puzzle contains no errors and has only one solution. Then lock it, choose desired hint level and start to play.

Printing
To print puzzle board, simply press Print button.

File Renamer

Description:
Batch rename selected files from a directory to the specified prefix and extention, or keep it's own extentions.

Example of usage:
into folder c:\test exist three files named: file1.jpg, photograph.gif and album.exe
From the dir list you select the file1.jpg and the photograph.gif, you type "test" into the "rename prefix" field, 005 into "start from" field, yoy leave 1 into "Increment by" and leave the "Extention" field empty.
If you click the "Rename Selected Files" button, the program renames the file1.jpg into test005.jpg and the photograph.gif into test006.gif and leave the album.exe as is.

Features:
- Batech rename all file from a folder or just the selected.
- Leave their own extention or change all the files extention to the one specified by the user.
- Can rename any file with the specified start number and increment step. It even allows zero formating. For example if you type 001 as a "start from" value and 1 into "increment by" field the next file will renamed to 002 and not 2. This is very important if you want to have correct sorting of the files.
- Preview list of the rename files according to the selected.
- If there is a conflict name into the same directory the program skips the file (does not rename it).
- Filemanager. If you double click any file of the file list, FileRenamer tries to open it with the associated program.

Download and setup:
File Renamer is written using Visual Basic 6.0, and requires the VB runtimes to be properly installed in your system. So if you're experiencing runtime errors or your system indicates you are missing a VBRUNxxx.dll file then you probably need to install or update your VB Runtime .dll files.

AutoUnpack is a freeware utility that can be used to automatically download, repair, and unpack all RAR-, 7z-, zip-, TS - archives, or splitted files (e.g. *.001). Which is especially useful for usenet binaries.

Normally people will start QuickPar while downloading (or afterwards) to verify whether the downloaded files are complete and to repair them if necessary. Then it is time to extract the downloaded files with WinRAR or 7-Zip . Finally they will delete the RAR and PAR files. So a couple of actions have to be performed by the user. AutoUnpack can automatically do this for us as follows:

1. While downloading files from usenet, start AutoUnpack and tell it which folder it should monitor (your download folder).
2. AutoUnpack analyzes this source folder to search for PAR2 files. It uses them to verify the downloaded files that belong to them. If some files are incomplete or missing and there aren't enough PAR2 repair blocks available, the program will show how many blocks are missing. It will analyze the folder again later (10 minutes for example).
3. If enough PAR2 repair blocks are available AutoUnpack will repair the missing or incomplete files (if necessary).
4. AutoUnpack will verify whether the repair was successful. If so, it will unpack the archive to extract the files.
5. Finally AutoUnpack can remove the RAR and PAR files after extraction.

Easy! Just start your download and start AutoUnpack as well. If all files or if enough PAR2 repair blocks are available, AutoUnpack will do the rest. It is able to repair all files in a PAR2 set, including MP3 files for example. It is able to unpack RAR archives but also splitted files ( 001 files ).

Save or change the game tumbnail: You can change the game tumbnail (visible on Select a game tab): when playing (tab Play the game must be activated) press on F2. This automatically save a game tumbnail in database.
Add to favorites: Select Select a game tab and execute right click on a game. Click on Favorites -> Add to favorites and enter a descriptive name.
Configure: In order to send mails you have to configure your dns server and enter your name & mail address in the Settings window. This program do not need any SMTP server because it acts like a mail server: it ask the DNS server for the recepient Mail Exchange server, connect to that server and deliver the mail.
Send a mail to your friends: You can send the game tumbnail or the game + game tumbnail. Enter your friend mail address in the bottom combobox from Play the game page and press on Send button. Please notice that you have to wait two minutes before you send another mail. Please do not abuse!

RegScanner is a small utility that allows you to scan the Registry, find the desired Registry values that match to the specified search criteria, and display them in one list. After finding the Registry values, you can easily jump to the right value in RegEdit, simply by double-clicking the desired Registry item. * If you want to view all Registry values that contains large amount of data, uncheck the 'Add entry for each found key' option, choose 'Registry item contains any value' in the matching combo-box, choose the 'Display only data with the following lenth range', and type the data length range that you want to find, for example: from 1000 bytes to 100000 bytes.
* If you want to view the list of all Registry keys that have been modified in the last few hours or days, check the 'Add entry for each found key' and 'Add only keys' options, choose 'Registry item contains any value' in the matching combo-box, choose the 'Display only keys that their modified time is within the following range' option, and then select the modified date/time range that you want to view.

Starting from version 1.40, you can search DWORD/Binary values. In order to specify a DWORD value to search, you can type (In the Find string text-box) a decimal value (for example: 255) or an hexadecimal value (for example: 0xff).
In order to specify a binary value that you want to search, type (In the Find string text-box) a sequence of hexadecimal bytes, with or without spaces between them.

Searching the Registry in a remote computer
Starting from version 1.40, you can search the Registry in a remote computer on your network. In order to do that, you should login to the remote computer with admin user. Also, be aware that searching the Registry in a remote computer might be quite slow.

Using reg: Links
Starting from version v1.50, RegScanner allows you to use reg: URL as a link to the Registry key in RegEdit editor.
For Example: Clicking the link below will open RegEdit with the specified Registry key:
reg:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
You can also type the same reg: string in the address bar of Internet Explorer or in the Run dialog-box of Windows.

In order to enable/disable this feature, go to the File menu of RegScanner utility, and choose the 'Support Reg: Links' option.
Be aware that changing this option only affects the current logged on user.

Using the /regedit and /clipregedit Command-Line Options
Starting from version 1.50, you can use RegScanner.exe utility to open the desired key in RegEdit, by using the /regedit command-line option.
For example:
RegScanner.exe /regedit "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion"
Starting from version 1.60, you can also use the /clipregedit command-line option if you want to open a key that you copied into the clipboard.
Notice about transition effects
If you want that RegEdit will be opened as fast as possible with the right Registry value, you should disable the 'transition effects' on your system. (On Windows 2000, go to the 'Display Properties' window, select the 'Effects' tab, and uncheck the 'Use transition effects...' option.

Translating RegScanner to other languages
In order to translate RegScanner to other language, follow the instructions below:
1. Run RegScanner with /savelangfile parameter:
regscanner.exe /savelangfile
A file named regscanner_lng.ini will be created in the folder of RegScanner utility.
2. Open the created language file in Notepad or in any other text editor.
3. Translate all string entries to the desired language. Optionally, you can also add your name and/or a link to your Web site. (TranslatorName and TranslatorURL values) If you add this information, it'll be used in the 'About' window.
4. After you finish the translation, Run RegScanner, and all translated strings will be loaded from the language file.
If you want to run RegScanner without the translation, simply rename the language file, or move it to another folder.

A deleted file is essentially an area on disk designated as free and ready to accept data (such as contents of some other file). Luckily, unless the area has already been overwritten, it still holds the contents of the deleted file. Due to this fact it is possible to undelete files.

DShutdown is a stand-alone program that allows you to easily shutdown and wake up local or remote PCs, with many specific options.

DShutdown supports more than just standard shutdown options, there are options relating to "pure" shutdown (such as the "force after wait" option which causes a forced, but 'clear' shutdown). There are monitoring options that allow you to shutdown a PC after a particular application terminates (useful at the end of compressing several files). There are also options to shutdown a PC when Internet traffic reduces below a particular data-rate (useful to shutdown a PC when it has finished a large download).

It is also possible to intercept a shutdown request, initiated by the user or an application, and to then execute the shutdown request with selected options from DShutdown. (For example: to simultaneously shut down all Lan PCs when the server shuts down).

DShutdown doesn't force a power-off without logging off and saving settings. DShutdown instead provides a means to log-off, shutdown and safely power-off your PC. Administrators who use roaming profiles will appreciate the benefits of this feature.
